GwMA Meets to Recognize Gwinnett BOC Chair Charlotte Nash in October 2020

October 8
Gwinnett Municipal Association members met at the Gwinnett Fire Academy on October 7, 2020.  This was the first in-person meeting held by GwMA at a county facility under COVID 19 Pandemic conditions.  As part of the meeting planning the attendance was limited and matched to the facility size based on the governor’s executive order restrictions.  Attendees were socially distanced and utilized masks and sanitizing options for safety.

City officials were able to take small-group tours of the fire training facility prior to assembly for the main program.  Chief Russell Knick provided brief remarks and information about the facility and training offered to both fire and EMS employees.

In addition to the facility presentation GwMA President Kelly Kelkenberg, Mayor Steve Edwards, Mayor Allision Wilkerson and Mayor Rey Martinez were called on to provide a special recognition to Gwinnett BOC Chair Charlotte Nash.  The remarks and special award were presented in appreciation for Chair Nash’s work with the Cities for the past eight years.  Comments referenced SPLOST negotiations, Service Delivery settlements and other joint County-Cities initiatives.
