GwMA Meeting 08.02.2023 Gas South Convention Center

GwMA members were able to return to the Gas South Convention Center on August 2, 2023 to see the progress made in the last several years.  Members originally visited in August of 2015 to hear about plans for the convention center, parking and hotel developments.  This session was planned for the members and guests to see the results of the effort over the last seven years.

The session was held in the new Willow Room and adjacent patio area.  Stan Hall, CEO of the Gas South District, provided a brief history of the changes to the area and a timeline for completion of the phases in progress.  Stan was followed by Lisa Anders, Executive Director of Explore Gwinnett.  Lisa presented information about the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau and the latest status of the film industry and its impact on Gwinnett County.  Of particular interest was activity impacting the Gwinnett cities.

GwMA President Trey King, Mayor of Duluth, was the MC of the reception, dinner and meeting.  Of particular note was nine of the sixteen Gwinnett Mayors were present for this meeting.

GwMA appreciates the partnerships and relationships formed with Explore Gwinnett and the Gas South District.  Our members look forward to the continued progress and development of the district and thank Lisa Anders, Stan Hall and their staff for a memorable meeting.
