Back to Berkely Lake for the June GwMA Meeting!

June 17
Gwinnett Municipal Association members and guests were hosted by the City of Berkeley Lake at the new Berkeley Lake Chapel Pavilion on Thursday, June 2 2022. The session’s program was provided by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) leaders Anna Roach and Kerry Armstrong.

When introducing new Executive Director Anna Roach Chairman Armstrong reminded attendees of his strong ties to Gwinnett County and appreciation for being invited to GwMA events.  Executive Director Roach offered greetings to Gwinnett County hand spoke about her history of teaching in the county. Looking forward, Anna emphasized the diversity, growth, trails system and Livable Cities Initiatives several Gwinnett cities were awarded.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Act has set up opportunities for local governments to receive funds for “shovel worthy” projects.  Local plans that have been developed but could not move forward may now be possible with the act’s funding.  The ARC will be working closely with Gwinnett to see that funds are approved and distributed.
